By car
The province of Verona is crossed east to west by the A4 Motorway which serves the city with exits in Verona South and Verona North, and other areas of the province with tollbooths at Soave, Sommacampagna and Peschiera (Lake Garda). It is also crossed north-south by the A22 Modena-Brennero Motorway with exits at Verona Nord for the city and Valpolicella, at Nogarole Rocca for the lower Veronese and at Affi for Lake Garda and Mount Baldo.
The other main roads are the SS11 (state highway) from Brescia or Vicenza, the SS62 from Mantova and SS12 from Trento or Modena. The Lessinia can be reached from Verona along a secondary road for Grezzana-Bosco Chiesanuova.

Verona is served by the main train line for Northern Italy, the Milan-Venice line, with frequent connections for other cities in the Veneto region (Venice, Padova, Vicenza) and the Lombardy region (Brescia, Milan). The city is also crossed by another important train line connecting Rome with Trento, Brennero and Northern Europe. Central station: Verona Porta Nuova. By plane The Valerio Catullo Airport situated in Villafranca and only 12 kilometres from Verona is easily reached by Motorway and from the city.
It offers connections to various destinations in central and southern Italy (Rome, Bari, Cagliari, Catania, Palermo) and for principal European countries such as Germany (Berlin, Munich, Cologne, Frankfurt), France, England Southern countries, Spain (Madrid, Barcelona), Belgium, Austria, and also charter flights to and from Italy, Spain, Greece, Cuba, Egypt, Tunisia, Turkey, Russia, France, Mexico and Morocco.
By car
The historic centre is closed to traffic between 7.30am – 10.30am and 1.30pm – 4.30pm except for authorised vehicles and those heading towards hotels. There is free car parking in parking areas at the Stadio (stadium), Porta Palio, via Città di Nimes (Porta Nuova train station), Porta Vescovo and the Gasometro (Lungadige Galtarossa).
Free coach and bus parking can be found in Via Pallone and Lungadige Capuleti. By bus
Metropolitan buses are coloured orange. Tickets need to be purchased before boarding and can be purchased at Tobacconists and Newsagents. Cost of a tickets is Euro 0.93 and is valid on all routes for 60 minutes. A daily ticket is also available for 3.10 Euro which is valid on the intire metropolitan network.
